Hungry Girl Austin – Downtown to Dripping Springs

Hi guys!! Ane with Hungry Girl Austin here, I hope you’re having a great week so far (I’m definitely looking forward to the “cooler” weekend)!! I’m here to fill you in on some of the best things that I ate this past week, I hope you guys enjoy!

1). Ahi tuna burger from Galaxy Cafe in Clarksville, with sweet potato fries (duh!)

I love Galaxy Cafe, I love that it’s locally owned, and I love that they focus on fresh, quality ingredients. This ahi tuna burger was one of their daily specials, but I’ve seen it often so make sure to call ahead if you’re particularly craving this to see when they’ll have it next (or maybe they can make it for you).

2). Beef Udon bowl from Lavaca Teppan Downtown

Lavaca Teppan is a great place for a client lunch, you will occasionally see politicians there that have walked over from the Capitol, and just other people on business lunches in general. They serve sushi beginning at 5, and have a nice long happy hour that goes from 3 – 7 everyday.

3). Any type of salmon from Celtic Seafare in Dripping Springs

If you haven’t tried traditional Irish kiln roasted salmon, you are in for a treat. Although the business itself is located in Dripping Springs, Sebastien and Stephanie, the owners, sell their salmon at the farmers markets (check the website for more info). I made a healthy, low-carb “rice” dish with one of their applewood kiln roasted salmon steaks (you can get the recipe here). My other favorite salmon that they sell is the Gravlax salmon with dill and peppercorns (slap that on a bagel and add some chopped up onion and capers and you’re in for a treat!).

4). Spicy Chicken bowl from Koriente Downtown

This is the perfect bowl of “bite sized cuts of tender chicken in a delicious spicy marinade served with steamed broccoli and carrots.” I love Koriente because they’re incredibly fast, and they serve healthy meals at a super great price. They also sell Boba Tea or Bubble Tea, and it’s one of my guilty pleasures!

Stay tuned for next week, I’ll continue to show you more food porn and hopefully entice your tastebuds into potentially trying something out that you haven’t before. If you have any suggestions or ideas for me (or something you’d like for me to try), feel free to tweet me and I’ll check it out!
